FORMS 2D

Local desktop CAD.
For engineers.

A drafting tool that runs on your machine, saves to your disk, and exports the formats your work already lives in. Bought once. Owned. The browser preview runs today; the desktop build is targeting August 1, 2026.

Browser preview is session-only — save/open/full drawing packages arrive with the desktop build.

THE CONTRACT

No cloud

Project storage is on your disk. Nothing required to be online. Nothing phones home. The tool works on the train.

No account

Open the app, draft. There is no login wall, no email gate, no "create a workspace" first step. The browser preview is the same — open the page and draw.

No subscription

You buy a version and own it. No annual renewal, no per-seat bill, no feature gating on a payment cycle. One payment.

Real files

DXF, PDF, SVG out. Your data in formats every CAD pipeline and client already reads. No proprietary container holding your work.

THE SHARP EDGE

I&C AS DATA,
NOT BLOCKS.

Every generic CAD tool treats instruments, valves, and loop sheets as dumb linework with a tag attached. Forms 2D understands them. An instrument is an object with a tag, a loop, a service, and a symbol — not a block named FT-101.dwg.

That means instrument insertion is faster, P&ID symbols obey ISA 5.1 because they know what they are, and a loop sheet is a thing you generate from the drawing instead of drafting by hand on a separate template.

If you draw P&IDs for a living, this is the difference between drafting a P&ID and fighting AutoCAD into producing one.

01
Instruments are objects
Tag, service, loop, symbol — one data record, drawn correctly.
02
Symbols obey ISA 5.1
The bubble knows whether it's field, panel, or shared. So does the connection.
03
Loop sheets come from the drawing
A loop is what it is. You don't redraw it on a separate sheet.
04
DWG import for the legacy work
Early DWG import (R14/R2000 optimized). DWG export isn't supported.

AI · OPTIONAL

BRING YOUR OWN KEY.
OR DON'T.

Forms 2D includes an AI assistant. It drafts geometry from a written spec, places symbols, drafts notes and tables. It's good. It is also not required.

The way it works: you bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key. Forms 2D uses it directly. Your key, your credits, your prompts — we are not the data middleman, we are not retaining your work, we are not charging you a margin on top of someone else's tokens.

Forms 2D is fully usable without AI. Every workflow is complete with it switched off. You bought a drafting tool. The AI is an add-on for the drafting tool, not the product wrapped around a chatbot.

BYO key

Your OpenAI or Anthropic API key. Direct calls. No proxy.

Switch it off

Single toggle. The base product is whole without it.

No data middleman

Forms 2D doesn't see your prompts or store your work for training. It calls the model on your behalf and shows you the result.

PRICING

YOU BUY IT.
YOU OWN IT.

Forms 2D is a one-time purchase for a version you own. There is no annual fee, no per-seat tax, no renewal email nine months from now telling you the price went up.

The price is in the range engineers already pay for worse CAD — and you pay it once instead of every year. That's the pitch. Cheaper isn't the point; honest is.
